Daily workouts that can be done ANYWHERE, with ANYTHING, by ANYONE, in 15 minutes or less.
All my life I have been the "big" girl. I didn't really hate my body, but I didn't really love it either. I would try to lose weight, see a little success, and then life would come along and hit me with emotions that were easier to bury in a bag of Oreos than actually confront. So I'd gain the weight back. I'd build some strength through a gym or workout program, only to find out we were moving again, or my kid's school schedule changed, or we just couldn't afford the gym membership anymore. So I'd lose the strength gains. I'd create a routine of making myself and my goals a priority, and then my kid would hit the terrible twos, or the "dear God this suck" pre-teens, or I'd lose my job, or there was a death in the family. So I'd put other people as the priority again. Every time I would think about my fitness, life would hit me with injuries, surgeries, sickness, time constraints, circumstance changes, depression, self-doubt, and a million other things that told me
I CAN'T DO THIS!
My comeback from depression was to start running. I set a goal to run a half marathon, and lemme tell ya, running SUCKED! Until one day I told my husband I was going to "go out for a quick 5k" and realized that running didn't suck anymore. I'd gotten stronger and now I could run! My comeback from feeling weak was to start doing Spartan races. They SUCKED! But every time I crossed a finish line covered in mud, sometimes blood, and sore as hell I realized "Holy shit, I did that!" Spartan races sucked, until I got strong enough that they didn't anymore. My comeback from feeling like a failure started when a friend invited me to a CrossFit workout. Dude. CrossFit really SUCKED! It kicked my ass every single day by challenging me to take on movements and workouts that I knew would beat me. But as I watched my strength increase, my endurance increase, and my ability to step up to the hard workouts with excitement instead of dread increase, I realized CrossFit didn't suck anymore.
In every comeback story there is a starting point. The point where you tell all of your excuses, setbacks, injuries, doubts, and circumstances, "I'm pissed that I can't, but wait til you see what I CAN!" You CAN build an unshakeable strength in yourself simply by taking steps forward every day to become the strongest YOU that you were meant to be! And once you do, you will forever know that you have the power to live a life where setbacks aren't showstoppers, detours aren't derailments, and quitting on yourself is no longer an option.
